Another predictable fatality in Edmonton. The city built a MUP on that intersection encouraging people to cross. There are multiple slip lanes and no infrastructure to slow drivers down.

With the increased size of SUVs and trucks Edmonton should update our daylighting laws. 5m only in the direction of travel is not enough. Why should you have to enter the road to be visible? #yegbike

Another avoidable collision #yegbike This is right in the middle of LRT construction. The temporary MUP in the area ins't particularly great, and many of the projects intersections are unsafe crossings. We need to do better. Hopefully everyone involved in this collision is ok!

CBC posted a video talking about a building losing its on street parking due to bike lanes. Somehow they failed to mention the building’s TWO visitor parking lots. One of which you can even see in the video. #yegbike

Looking through the Belmead neighbourhood renewal. Mostly good but some baffling choices. 16 new level or raised crossings but not a single one connected to the schools if you’re riding a bike. 95 ave not getting a MUP? I thought the renewal was why it didn’t get extended this year?

Well it looks like bike unfriendly candidates won all of west Edmonton. Is it a surprise that areas with bad bike infrastructure don’t support biking? Why would anyone bike when it’s not safe. Any infrastructure that exists puts you in conflict with pedestrians and cars. #yegbike

How many people have to die before the city drops “vision zero”? Throwing some asphalt on the side of a 60 km road and making people cross the road without any infrastructure doesn’t feel like vision zero.
