Amazing how ‘tradition’ gets invoked in a usually positive way. That how things have been done for a long time implies timeless wisdom. Yet ‘tradition’ did not favour women’s agency at all.

So much of the current version of Alberta’s separatist movement is deeply rooted in Christian nationalism and conspiracy theories about COVID, the UN, WHO, WEF, 15 minute cities, and LGBTQ people. This Maclean’s article platforms its advocates without a mention of this. Wildly bad journalism.
