The first block of 113 st MUP south from Kingsway to slopitch parking lot is complete and beautifully smooth. Kingsway crossing will be next year. Also concrete at 113 st/111 ave north side, and progressing along 111 ave west to 119 st and east towards 109 st.

It would be great if YEG had not blocked access to the 113 st - 111 ave crossing lights while they do the active infrastructure work. Now you sit there headed North waiting for a gap to run 6 lanes of traffic. Or intrude into an active construction area. Or divert 2 blocks east or 3 west. #yegbike

Talked with construction crew today. New yeg bike route on 113 st from 111 Ave to Kingsway will become MUP on east side of road, replacing current sidewalk. New signaled crossing at Kingsway, not just dumping onto the sidewalk. Daylighting from 107 to 111 Ave being removed. Looking good! Yegbike

Absolutely gerrymandering. There should be a limit (I suggest +/-10% from median) for riding population and they should be constructed close to rectangular proportions with only small deviations allowed to meet geographic desirability like along a road.

@yegbike.bsky.social we have concrete barriers going in on 113 st! From 111 Ave ==> south. Narrower curb than the big cut they made, staying well back of the daylighted corners. Looks like a good job! One area of concern just north of 109 ave, they seem to be leaving a length long enough to park in.

I note they claim to speak for "the entire neighbourhood". They have 300 signatures. If that's everyone they certainly don't need a road capable of 20,000+ vehicles per day. Or maybe they were being creative with their statement??
