Bauhaus means a lot to our community. It’s where I had my election night party when I first won in 2021, and where I kicked off both of my re-election campaigns. They’ve always been willing to host community events and support important causes even when they might’ve been struggling themselves.

There’s been a notable increase in ICE activity the last few weeks. Today there were confirmed ICE vehicles in Columbia Heights that had been seen at the exact same spot a week earlier. There were also confirmed ICE vehicles in Marcy Holmes on Monday.

Hope springs eternal. For over 50 years, the May Day Parade has represented the very best of Minneapolis. This year, it felt even more special to be celebrating the resiliency of our community with so many friends and neighbors on this beautiful day.

Started my day today at a community celebration for Waite Park’s Sanctuary Team. They worked tirelessly during operation metro surge to keep students, staff, and the community around Waite Park safe. I’m so grateful for the courage and care they showed for our students when they needed it the most.

The Minneapolis City Council approved the Care Over Criminalization ordinance with a 7-6 vote today. This ordinance will align Minneapolis with state law as it relates the decriminalization of paraphernalia. 1/

Last night’s ICE abduction near 20th & Central didn’t happen in a vacuum. Friday morning they were found stalking people at Huset Park and earlier in April they kidnapped someone near East Phillips community center.

Someone was taken near 20th & Central tonight at 10 PM. Within 5 minutes, there were over 20 people on a call and even more people on foot in the area to respond.

Thank you so much to these incredible elected officials for all they did and are continuing to do for our community, but let’s also take a moment to appreciate @doronclark.bsky.social ‘s top tier ‘Disappointed Dad’ energy here. 😂

Making daily videos during an occupation leads to some bloopers.

I have to write a justification for every purchase at my job, no matter how small. The tiniest things get scrutinized (PAPER CLIPS). How a person could blow a budget by $20million is unbelievable. Shrug and expect to lead the team again. Wasting taxpayer money.

There is a lot of talk about re-appointment of city officials, so I wanted to talk about it. I voted against re-appointing Public Safety Commissioner Barnette because I take my role of oversight seriously, and we deserve leaders who are tracking and being responsible with taxpayer dollars.

Last term, Council President Payne led the most productive council in recent history. We aren’t stopping this term either. Progressives are delivering. I don’t want to hear about a lack of “priorities” when progressives are the only ones bringing policy and solutions forward. 2/

This is all just a set up. Most productive council in history, most diverse, and people who just work really hard for our neighbors. We get made to be punching bag to tee up for the charter amendment on the ballot to strip council power and in turn constituent power. Don’t fall for it.

Anyone who looks to fairly judge nominees based on their current job performance would come to the conclusion that Toddrick Barnette is unfit for the role. In any normal job, if someone oversaw a department that unexpectedly overspent its budget by $20 million you would be immediately fired.
