Another classic post-Homan day where around school dismissal time we get a flurry of ICE vehicles all across our neighborhoods. Today one vehicle led an observer to their own home and pointed at it. This is a sick game to them, but we won’t be intimidated and we won’t stop until DHS is abolished.

It’s been another very active day today in Northeast with someone being abducted on St Anthony Parkway & Central. Regardless of what the federal government says, it’s still very active with the same illegal tactics being used by ICE. We still need everyone out protecting our neighbors.

In case you’re wondering if whistling and cameras work, today when agents were coming out of Burger King and I was at the door directly in front of them as they walked out they went “oh fuck” and quickly pulled up their masks and ran back to their car before driving off.

There was so much ICE activity today. A group of agents spent the whole morning inside Jimmy’s Bar and then ended up driving erratically all throughout the Holland & Como neighborhoods, eventually trying to park at the 2nd precinct police station.

ICE is very active right now including indiscriminately stopping people on 37th & Central. There’s also ICE vehicles active in Holland, Como, and St Anthony East neighborhoods all at the same time as of 12 PM here on Saturday. Spend your weekend outside and help protect your neighbors.

We’ve seen lots of reports of legal observers being arrested in North Minneapolis, South Minneapolis, and Eden Prairie. Exercising your first amendment right to observe is not a crime. This is exactly why congress can’t give another penny to DHS.

Tonight at 8:30 PM our constituent Ricky was pepper sprayed by ICE on 18th & Polk. 2 agents parked their car, got out and approached observers, started pepper spraying Ricky on public property, and then drove away and left. Nothing is changing on the ground in Minnesota. ICE must be abolished.

Ricky was assaulted by ICE tonight for merely standing on public property.

In NE Minneapolis and Columbia Heights today, Weds. 2/5/26, ICE has been focusing on schools and schoolbus stops. SCHOOLS AND SCHOOLBUS STOPS. This is their “softer touch”

Everything you’re hearing from the Trump administration is a lie. Today was one of the most active days in Northeast since the entire Operation Metro Surge began. Nothing is changing on the ground in Minneapolis, no matter what headlines Trump and Homan try to create.

This morning there was an ICE presence on McKinley street but then over 20 neighbors responded right away with their whistles and cameras and ICE left. This follows over a dozen ICE agents breaking into an apartment on Franklin Ave at 6 am this morning without presenting a warrant.

While Tom Homan was trying to grab headlines this morning ICE was again circling our schools. They’ve been out all morning and no “drawdown” is enough until every single one of these agents is out of our state and DHS is abolished.

We just chased ICE off of Central Ave. We’re saying clearly that ICE needs to leave immediately and should not be funded. One way you can help is by showing up tonight to caucus at 7 PM to support resolutions and candidates who are committed to not funding and completely dismantling ICE.

Picture from my ride in today. It feels weird going to City hall to sit in our chambers while our community is being terrorized by ICE, but I’m proud we’ll be bringing forward proposals to fund rental assistance and immigration legal services at our committee of the whole meeting today.

ICE is still here, surrounding schools in Columbia Heights today after Liam was returned. Noem announced that ICE will be issued body cameras. This shows that we’re winning & that we can’t let up. Let your representatives know you don’t support funding ICE and that they need to leave immediately.

Hundreds of community members showed up to Target today to tell them to stop being a safe haven for ICE. We’ve seen so many community members taken from Target & the Quarry as they allow ICE to use their parking lot.

This afternoon a group of us met at Recovery and rode down together to the bike ride to honor the life of Alex Pretti. Keep getting out and connecting with other community members to find activities that sustain you because we are in this for the long haul and this is how we win.

We just joined Edison high school students as they walked out of school to demand an end to this illegal ICE occupation. Our kids are leading the way and it’s our job to stand with them and make a better world possible for them.

Press conferences and social media posts have not changed conditions on the ground. Another person taken today off of Central Ave and Northeast middle school had to delay letting kids leave because of ICE presence in the area. The federal government continues to make our community less safe.

Minneapolis Council President Elliott Payne on TV last night reflecting on the politics of the George Floyd era as it relates to the current federal threat.

Yesterday Bovino left and Tom Homan came to town and ICE continued as usual taking multiple people near Central Ave and throughout the suburbs. But we Minnesotans don’t get scared, we get organized and we get in the streets.

"I think this may me a headfake. They may me shifting their tactics but they’re not shifting their policy," says Minneapolis City Council President Elliott Payne on Bovino leaving the city, yet DHS apprehensions continuing and agents attempting to enter the Ecuadorian consulate without permission.

This morning ICE attempted to enter into the Ecuadorian consulate on Central Ave but were barred from entering. I spoke with Ambassador Yanez this afternoon and they want to make sure the Ecuadorian community knows it’s still safe to come to the consulate.

ICE has been back at it with their illegal activity today. Abducting multiple neighbors in the Ward, physically assaulting observers, coming into businesses threatening that they will be back to arrest people for no reason. If they come back today, they’re going to have to go through me first.

It’s good news that Bovino and some border patrol agents could be leaving our City. This shows that what we’ve been doing is working, which means we can’t let up! We continue to need people on the streets and pressuring our federal representatives not to fund DHS. Keep it up, Minneapolis.

My white neighbors and I scrambled to respond to 2 ICE vehicles this morning. Some nonwhite neighbors monitored the situation to see if they dared to leave the house for work. Other nonwhite neighbors haven’t left the house in a month

There’s a lot of noise right now in the media that is positive and shows that we are winning. But none of that changes the reality for our neighbors on the ground until ICE actually leaves. We still had ICE sitting in the Well Fargo parking lot and outside of Pillsbury this morning.

Everything will move to Committee of the Whole instead of other regular standing committees. All work will still happen, things won’t be delayed, and it gives many of us time to address constituent needs that have only increased massively.

Alex Pretti should be alive. He should be here with us and doing what he loved, helping others as an ICU nurse. We will get justice for Alex, and we will not back down. Keep being in the streets and watching out for your neighbors.
