My office has worked to advance protections for survivors and victims. We've been met with barriers and excuses from Frey's admin. I'm horrified, but unsurprised, that MPD’s reports related to their response to Mariah Samuels are out-of-line of her family's experience.

Yesterday, the Frey administration declined to release the internal investigation conducted by MPD related to their actions surrounding the violence and shooting of Davis Moturi by his neighbor. Mr. Moturi and our community deserves a transparency.

The days are getting darker earlier! I am glad to have passed funding to increase lighting in Dinkytown. Students should be able to walk home from class with visibility, and that is exactly what my office delivered this year!

We recently visited the Pillars of Prospect Park to connect with residents ahead of the election! Over the last 3.5 years, my office has prioritized senior needs at city hall.

I am proud to have the broadest coalition of support in the Ward 2 Council race. Educators, environmentalists, educators, LGTBQ+ organizers, students, workers, and more are standing up for my leadership.

I stand in solidarity with our Local 59 educators who voted to authorize a strike. Minneapolis educators and working families all want a school system that sets kids up for success.

Last night, @michaelforparks.bsky.social and I finally were able to door-knock renters in a building owned by John Wall. Wall prioritized his own politics before his legal responsibility as a landlord. After taking him to court, he was found in violation of the law repeatedly.

"Not only is Frey unable to find funds to fill a hole amounting to less than 1% of the city’s $2 billion budget, he proposes cutting 100 emergency housing vouchers at the same time, pitting two vital programs against each other.”

davis points out to frey that IEs supporting him send mailers instructing voters how to rank their ballots and adds "i am running because i am tired of your inadequate leadership rooted in personal ambition, in moral blindness, in ideological purity."

“While U.S. democracy feels fragile, we’re making city government more democratic by responding to community members’ needs and ideas with policies like wage increases and protections for rideshare drivers and safer streetlights in Dinkytown.”

We are ONE WEEK out from Election Day! I am proud of the broad coalition of support I have earned over the last 3.5 years and what we have accomplished. To continue our fight for justice and equity and MPLS, you need to vote.

Some of my opponents have claimed that I don’t care about our economy & small businesses – which is far from the truth.

My opponents like to portray me as "anti-public safety" and think that I believe encampments are a solution to homelessness. The reality is, I have used my Council seat to invest in public safety and housing-first programs across the Ward. Take a read here:

Students need a grocery option that is not the overpriced Dinkytown Target. Period. My office has been using all tools at our disposal to advance an affordable and accessible option. The private market is failing us, and students are going hungry.

Former Mpls Regional Chamber of Commerce President Jonathan Weinhagen was just federally indicted for embezzlement. In 2021, he funded a PAC to ensure power was consolidated in the Mayor’s office. In 2022, the mayor attempted to accept free services from Weinhagen, and Council blocked it.

Minneapolis residents stand united against the Trump administration’s violent attacks on our immigrant neighbors. Many still recall the trauma of the 2020 National Guard deployment, when peaceful protesters for racial justice were met with tear gas, rubber bullets, and militarized force.

It’s wild that PAC’s can just flat out lie. They blame CM Wonsley for the Mayor’s own failures. @robin4mpls.bsky.social is one of the hardest working people I know. She passes policy and effective legislation with unanimous support all the time. I’m also condemning this caricature. Disgusting!

Smart move by CMs Wonsley, Payne, and Chavez back in 2022 to block a “gift” from the chamber to have a staffer work in Frey’s office for free. Imagine Weinhagen having that type of influence over the office given what’s come out about his embezzlement. www.startribune.com/minneapolis-...

“The Minneapolis City Council’s so-called “one-sided” ceasefire resolution has essentially become the position of the United Nations, which in September determined that Israel has been committing genocide.”

In the last few weeks I had the opportunity to speak with student constituents at Augsburg. One class I attended focused on public speaking skills, the other on problem solving in urban planning.

“This question itself is incredibly concerning to me, an officer asking if I can be untruthful with the office of city auditor. Again, this is coaching coming from the federation.”

Yesterday was an incredible day full of energy and momentum for our campaign. The early-voting pop up had a historic 443 votes!  Thank you to the students who got out and voted & our wonderful volunteers who spent hours in the cold to get out the vote. The energy on this team is unmatched.

Because the mayor forgot to mention it, I’ll remind folks that he vetoed the budget for the Dinkytown lights—champion led by @robin4mpls.bsky.social— because they were a “pet project.”
