ACLU MN reported yesterday that the federal government filed sworn statements that there are 970 agents in Minnesota for Operation Metro Surge & that 407 agents will remain here in March. It’s important to note this is on top of the 190 agents that were already assigned before this surge started.

ICE was the quarry target this morning and then driving dangerously through northeast & downtown. ICE is still very much here and we need to make sure we still have people out keeping watch for our neighbors.

At Whipple to give my thanks to the volunteers at Haven Watch who are here 24/7 caring for our neighbors as they often get dumped out into the cold without a coat and with no notice to their families. When Minnesota Republicans say "this would all be different if Democrats simply cooperated with ICE," they mean it would be much less of a pain in the ass to carry out the violent race-based crackdown if you would just fold your local police into the efforts of our masked right wing militia.

The level of anger normal Minnesota people have at their elected representatives is palpable. It's not about party, but the perceived failure of local/state electeds to do anything of substance to protect residents who pay their taxes and get left facing off alone against masked, armed men.

We’re still seeing ICE a lot in the suburbs, following legal observers to their homes, and holding tons of our neighbors at Whipple and then dumping them out in the middle of the night. We still need to stay vigilant until every last one of them leaves our state and our neighbors are back home.

With Haven Watch volunteers outside the immigration detention center in Fort Snelling — before they met freezing detainees released at the gate and gave them blankets.

But one thing was clear: Despite the drawdown, ICE is still here. They’re stalking legal observers in our communities, at times doing so with no regard for traffic laws or safety.

Great turn out at the MIRAC rally & march today at Jackson Square Park. It was heart warming seeing our immigrant neighbors open their windows and cheer as we went through the neighborhood.

If you spend 5 minutes on the ground you can clearly see racial profiling is literally the only thing that’s occurring. It’s just them getting out of their vehicle or boxing someone in dangerously on the road if they think they look like an immigrant and that’s how they “target” their enforcement.

ICE is still active all across Minnesota, even parking at observers homes this morning. But we’ve been showing up all weekend with massive food drives, placing hearts where were abducted, at singing marches, and there’s another big protest at Jackson Square Park today at noon. Let’s keep showing up!

We’re going to continue being out there and patrolling to protect our neighbors until every single last agent is gone. We’re also going to keep this connection going and continue building community for long after whenever this operation ends.
