There’s ample video evidence that ICE does not operate within the law & consistently violates the rights of people. The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, to preserve public safety, needs to cease cooperation & collaboration with ICE. ICE is a rogue agency jeopardizing the safety of Minnesotans.

In anticipation of the storm, the City has opened more than 700 spaces of free off-street parking in two lots, and starting Sunday morning, 3,500 spaces in Ramp A for $1. Also free snow parking at the farmers market lot and the 4th St., North lot for parking 2 PM Saturday until 8 PM Wednesday.

Last week Council Member Rainville and I sent a letter to MNDOT expressing our support for incorporating an “Art Walk” in the reconstruction of Central Ave. We have the #1 arts district in the country and this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to forever incorporate it on Central Ave.

3 ICE vehicles were in a parking lot of a Columbia Heights restaurant on Central Ave this afternoon and there was a potential ICE vehicle by Pillsbury at pick up today. A lot of politicians think it’s time to move on, but how can we move on when this isn’t even over.

This guy @elliottpayne.org has been out on the streets the past few months showing up for the people of Minneapolis. And he did the same tonight for our ride.

Months of work and millions of dollars raised by thousands of our residents to help keep people in their homes comes down to the signature of one person. We’re calling on Mayor Frey to sign Pause Evictions, Save Lives. This policy temporarily gives residents 30 more days to help prevent evictions.

Avoiding evictions and keeping people housed is equal to or arguably better community investment than paying Police Overtime. Just sayin….

A bill with $40 million in rent relief is headed to the Minnesota Senate floor next week. Lead author @lindseyportmn.bsky.social crafted a bill that addresses the urgency of the moment. Plus, the bill includes my provision to extend pre eviction notices from 14 to 30 days temporarily.

It’s impossible to fully capture how much Ivonne & Jason have done. They’ve not only been patrolling their community 24/7 since December, but hundreds of families they don’t even know from all across the city ask them for rent help, translation help, legal help & more and they help them immediately.

At 8:30 PM on Saturday night we have ICE in the quarry parking lot and they start driving off erratically through the City the minute people go up and try to talk to them. Their lawlessness and terror continues so please continue to be out there looking out for your neighbors and staying safe.

The US should have a law that person’s convicted or with pending felony federal/state charges cannot be President of the US - especially in areas of fraud, rape or sexual assault, or inciting an insurrection or violence.

There has been no draw down today. ICE snatched someone off Central Ave out of his car because he looked Latino before then letting him go a couple hours later. They were stopping people in Blaine on highway 65, they were all around Fridley, and were in the parking lot of the St Anthony liquor store

I’ll believe it when I see it. Everything they’ve said about this illegal occupation has been built on a lies. We need accountability for our neighbors and for this whole corrupt department to be dismantled. Stay out there, keep your connection to one another, and only believe your eyes.

Today ICE caused a multi-vehicle crash in St Paul so bad that someone was sent to the hospital. This is the opposite of keeping us safe. They have been active around NE today & we know school dismissal is always a peak time for them so please get out if you can & help keep our community safe.

An 18 year old was taken today in the Hennepin County Government Center. Any leader thinking collaborating with ICE will be good and help end this surge is forgetting that no one in our community is expendable.

In one 30-minute stretch, three legal observers were arrested — as Trump’s Border czar Tom Homan calls on locals to “end the resistance.”

Another classic post-Homan day where around school dismissal time we get a flurry of ICE vehicles all across our neighborhoods. Today one vehicle led an observer to their own home and pointed at it. This is a sick game to them, but we won’t be intimidated and we won’t stop until DHS is abolished.

Everything you’re hearing from the Trump administration is a lie. Today was one of the most active days in Northeast since the entire Operation Metro Surge began. Nothing is changing on the ground in Minneapolis, no matter what headlines Trump and Homan try to create.

Tonight at 8:30 PM our constituent Ricky was pepper sprayed by ICE on 18th & Polk. 2 agents parked their car, got out and approached observers, started pepper spraying Ricky on public property, and then drove away and left. Nothing is changing on the ground in Minnesota. ICE must be abolished.

This morning there was an ICE presence on McKinley street but then over 20 neighbors responded right away with their whistles and cameras and ICE left. This follows over a dozen ICE agents breaking into an apartment on Franklin Ave at 6 am this morning without presenting a warrant.

Has anyone actually witnessed or experienced an ICE or Border Patrol person behave professionally without violating the constitution?

Picture from my ride in today. It feels weird going to City hall to sit in our chambers while our community is being terrorized by ICE, but I’m proud we’ll be bringing forward proposals to fund rental assistance and immigration legal services at our committee of the whole meeting today.

Does it really matter that ICE will have Body Cameras? NO. All ICE & BPA agents should be fired for violating the rights of citizens. There aren’t any accountability systems for ICE & BPA. Who would review the Body Camera Footage? What would happen with it? It’s too fking late for Body cameras.

No concessions. ICE & the BPA murdered at least 2 people and are violating people’s Constitutional Rights. Funding needs to end & they need to be disbanded.
