I hope our @dfl.org leadership takes seriously the experiences of trans, nonbinary, and two-spirit voters in this state. We have worked hard to build a trans-inclusive Minnesota. Our community growing deep roots here. To see our community dismissed and disregarded in this way is unacceptable.

Right now, our attention and focus should be on the victims and their families at Annunciation. Instead our community is continually politically targeted and scapegoated. Let us all work together to create a safer state for everyone, free from gun violence.

If the GOP is serious about taking on the mental health challenges that lead to this violence, they should start by talking to their cult leader. CNN: "The Trump administration cut funding in [Minnesota] for efforts to identify potential mass shooters and head off their violence."

Gun culture is very different from urban to rural, but the pastoral image of rural America when it comes to guns if false. Hunting is not the issue in front of us. Death by gun is the issue, and we can solve it.

Tom Emmer wants to repeal trans refuge. He can’t, and we won’t.

While we await further details; stay grounded in the facts, center those most impacted, be aware that the ways we understand what happened affect our response to a tragedy. In this painful moment we reaffirm that we all deserve safety, and stand in support with all those grieving.

Violence has no place in our communities, and we condemn these unconscionable actions. We stand with our fellow Minnesotans in urging care and support for those affected as we come together as communities to mourn the lives lost and support our friends and neighbors.

As Minnesotans of different backgrounds who love our state and the people in it, we are horrified by the terrible act of violence today at the Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis. Our thoughts are with the students, families, staff, and community who have been most directly impacted.

Another hard day in Minnesota. Two children murdered in their schools. A dozen more wounded. These are family tragedies, and national ones. Our epidemic of violence is raging, and we are all suffering. ALL of us. It is horrific, endless. But it can stop. We must take steps to alleviate this pain.
