It’s wrong to try and kick people out of the CD5 Convention because they silently & respectfully stood up during speeches. Neighbors are frustrated with the silence on the attack of our trans, gender expansive, & LGBTQIA+ neighbors. I’m glad that delegates changed the rules now to address this.

Ilhan Omar opponent Latonya Reeves nominated for DFL endorsement by a guy who has repeatedly come to the mic asking to kick out the "communist party" members among us. Reeves then gives a speech denouncing the "nonsensical purity tests" that have pushed people to vote Republican.

Political insiders say you usually don't want to be nominated for endorsement by the guy who spent the morning making himself the convention's main jackass.

I lost count of the number of folks in opposition to these charter amendments.

The mayor’s authoritarian tendencies are a class issue. The mayor and his privileged friends are grabbing power as the city becomes even more organized and diverse.

I wonder if the charter commission knew they were picking a massive fight with both far left radicals and big burly union members.

I’m sorry what? Businesses in Uptown saw crowds when the city has put in the resources to reduce harm, improve transit, and organize events. This year, the city has stopped organizing Open Streets, blocked eviction protectIons, and destroyed homeless encampments. But yeah, parking is the problem.

Capitalism will always serve the people that already have the most privilege under it. We need DIRECT action from the city. Close streets for market days, make rent for small, minority-owned businesses affordable, and build more transit for people to get to businesses that need the foot traffic ffs
