Don Lemon and Georgia Fort are journalists protected by the First Amendment of the Constitution. Their arrests this morning by masked federal agents— with Georgia’s arrest carried out in front of her children just before the start of the school day—is a stain on the fabric of our democracy.

The trials of these federal agents are likely to occur after this year’s election, placing the responsibility for accountability squarely in the hands of the next Hennepin County Attorney.

I am glad that my sister Congresswoman @ilhanmn.bsky.social is safe tonight after someone attacked her with an unknown substance. We are grateful for the swift action taken by her team to prevent a bad situation from becoming worse.
