I agree that the people obsessed with pushing poor people out of Uptown are making the place unwelcoming to all of us.

If you, as a white person, call yourself a community leader and you didn’t do anything to support your immigrant neighbors during Operation Metro Surge, maaaaaybe you are not a community leader, or at least not in the way you claim.

We saw two weeks of coverage over “fiery tensions” at City Hall. Will we see anything about the Chief of Police being completely unable to account for a $20M+ overspend of their budget?

Every time people cite construction as a reason for small businesses closing in Uptown, I think about how the Minneapolis City Council funded a $900,000 construction hardship program that Mayor Frey did not implement.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ This would have been support for small businesses in Uptown.

The people who say, “Food is expensive, just garden” have perhaps not been to a garden store.

Someone commented negatively on my weight last week in a public way and like… it’s 2026, commenting on people’s weight is not okay. On a personal level, I’m in recovery from an eating disorder. On a societal level, fat phobia is a major issue and contributes to medical neglect. Do better!
