What a deeply cynical move by the state DFL. 1. provide no support to the local party 2. overwhelm volunteers trying to provide a fair process 3. if you don't like the results, overturn them based on the flaws you guaranteed would exist

DFL TO CITY: DROP DEAD

For months, people across the city volunteered, organized and talked to their neighbors before endorsing Omar Fateh at the DFL convention. In the last month, the wealthiest people in the city, led by All of Mpls, have been “working tirelessly” to overturn a democratic vote in a smoke-filled room.

My flippant take on the DFL endorsement of Omar Fateh being unwound is (1) maybe hurts him with low-info voters (2) he could absolutely use it to fire up the Somali and East African community, which is already taken for granted by the DFL, in a "they are taking this from you" GOTV effort

It's so frustrating to me that the State DFL refused to help fund the City Convention, forcing organizers to do their best with what they had. And now the richest people in (and outside) Minneapolis are willing to throw their money around to try to invalidate that convention
