8/ DEMS: SNAP-Ed support included about $4.1M for WV’s Family Nutrition Program. GOP: eliminated. 60 Minutes showed hungry kids eating weekend food on the bus on Friday because they cannot wait. Cuts land on children first.

7/ DEMS: “Solar for All” included a $106M WV grant intended to lower energy costs for low-income residents. GOP: canceled. In a place where families are choosing between groceries and heat, that is not an abstract budget debate. It is a survival issue.

6/ DEMS: The goal was to connect the hardest-to-reach communities. GOP: about 40,000 locations were reportedly dropped from the fiber plan. If you remove the hardest places first, you are making a political choice about who gets left behind.

4/ DEMS: BEAD was built to expand broadband broadly, including fiber-level access. GOP: 18,000+ structures were reportedly reclassified as “non-serviceable,” making them ineligible on paper. Paper changes can erase real people from real plans.

3/ DEMS: WV BEAD broadband funding was framed at about $1.2B to connect rural communities. GOP: Trump administration rule changes reportedly cut WV’s award roughly in half. That is not “the same.” That is a direct policy difference with real consequences.

2/ DEMS: Biden’s infrastructure law put $3.8B over 5 years into West Virginia for roads, bridges, and water systems. GOP: Trump/DOGE-style “efficiency” meant cuts, rescissions, and instability so communities cannot plan around help that keeps disappearing.
