Drivers in Seattle are horrible. Today, I watched a guy run a red light and turn left onto Queen Anne Ave. from Mercer. He was in the right-hand lane.

One big reason for this: conservative political forces in Seattle spent the early ‘20s scaring people about downtown safety in order to win elections - mainly because they wanted to keep taxes low. The result is a widespread view outside the city limits that downtown is scary. (It’s not.)

This is not just where I work as the E.D., it is a FAMILY. Knowing that two of our own were disappeared to the NW Detention Center over the last week is beyond terrifying. Please read, share, and support.
