On Nov. 8, dozens gathered on the small lawn of Urban Triangle Park to call attention to an issue seldom-discussed in Seattle: the ongoing civil war in Sudan. Protesters condemned how the United Arab Emirates has backed the Rapid Support Forces, which has been accused of war crimes.

"Government-owned public housing has been one of the most significant lifelines of deep affordability for the lowest-income families. But due to decades of defunding and neglect, public housing has gone into disrepair and tenants are left to live with mold, leaks, broken appliances and more."
