I don’t think this is an original observation on my part but it’s kind of funny that in the 2000s people were like “when will DC do their own spin on the Ultimate line?” and they’ve done like four wildly different takes on that basic idea since 2011

On the one hand this is inevitable when a series only pumps out one major release every 5-8 years or so. On the other hand when they pushed out a game every to 1-2 years they snuck in little rooms where caricatures of the devs stood around saying “now that the game is out I can go see my children”
