To remove indefinite leave to remain from people who already have it they'd have to dismantle our entire system of rights legislation and probably end judicial independence. But they could do that with a majority. They've said they'd do that.

Also: bear in mind that this is what’s being served up almost a full four years before the next General Election. At this rate, any 2029 manifesto offerings milder than indentured labour for anyone whose family arrived after 1066 would be a pleasant surprise

think that realistically I would have always been deeply, deeply worried about the rise of far-right ideas in public discourse but I truly never expected this level of blithe elite complacency, turns out I do feel worried but mostly I feel like I'm going insane, watching them do.......nothing at all

Any journalist quoting this absurd, invented £234 billion number cited by Farage/Reform should make absolutely clear that it has been withdrawn by *its own authors* (the Centre for Policy Studies) after they admitted it contained several major errors (1/3)

It’s been sad this year watching how the White House press corps refuses to back each other up. Here a female journalist is insulted and denigrated and the next male reporter just moves on to a new question. You’re all in this together, folks. Time & again, they won’t stand up for their colleagues.

In the 2010s, this country's elites were thrown onto social platforms with everyone else and could finally read what we all think about them and it caused them so much psychic damage that they decided to destroy both the internet and democracy to make sure nothing like it ever happened again.

Two notable shifts in position by London’s political leaders last night. 1) Sadiq Khan, following pressure from the Green’s Zack Polanski, describing Israel’s actions in Gaza as a “genocide” for first time. 2) London Tory leader Susan Hall denying the Tommy Robinson march had a far-right element.

Tough choice for Starmer to sack Mandelson, but we can all agree it was masterful of him to only do this after 48 solid hours saying he would not sack him because he really really likes and trusts the guy who supported the most famous paedophile the world has ever known.
