We had a heatwave in the summer of 76 and just got on with it. Back then the sun was known as Ra and his word was gospel. We fired 12 people from each community into the sun to appease him. Only four came back, but they were... different. Hose pipe ban was on. We got by visiting the old haunted well

Except that Starmer didnât move Labour âto the centre on issues like immigrationâ. He moved Labour to the right. His policies were harsher than any Conservative government in living memory. This wasnât moderation in any meaningful way.

The volunteers of Orkney Friends of Palestine and Amnesty Orkney branch who organised the lunch at the St Magnus Centre, Kirkwall, on Sunday 21 June will donate the money to Al Quds Disabled Childrenâs Centre in Shufat Refugee Camp in East Jerusalem, and Hope & Play childrenâs charity in Gaza.
