Sunday is the Winter Solstice in the northern hemisphere. The point in the year when daylight is at its shortest Across the UK, daylight will be in short supply: Less than 8 hours in the far south 🕑 And under 6 hours in the far north 🕑

As we edge closer towards Christmas the weather pattern is set to change. High pressure building over Scandinavia will start to influence the UK, drawing in colder air from the east. Strengthening winds in the south will enhance the cold feel here by Christmas Day 🎄
