You just reminded me of the observation in more than one Discworld book that a "dream come true" is not something to be desired. I mean, really, would you want *that* dream to become real?

kind of remarkable how true this is, so many major animal gods are just “person with an animal head” whereas folks get real creative with horrible demons I suppose we’ve all got a good supply of nightmares to draw on for the latter
