This is a bit of an oddity. Back in about 2004, when I was thinking Bunny Vs Monkey could be a tv show, I drew a few pages of comic to convey the idea to producers. I think this in particular might be the first BVM comic artwork I ever made, from over twenty years ago 💖

There’s a piece of art going round by a very established artist which I was convinced was AI, however researching their work I see they’re insistently anti-AI. But I swear there’s one small detail on this piece in particular I can’t imagine a non-AI artist would let slide and it’s driving me bonkers

We had a good run

Sending finished work to people who I know aren’t back yet, just to get the last few thrills of an out of office reply.

I have a couple projects under TV option so I went digging for the first sketches I did for one of them and found it originated as a book pitch twenty years ago. 20! And I realised actually that’s not so unusual, most of my projects (BVM, Loosh, Flember and others) all started around that long ago.

I mean we’re only three days into the new year and he’s already started a war. That’s gotta be some kind of record.

Watched the Stranger Things season finale. I’ve had a few issues with this series but you know what I enjoyed it, it had a lot to do and it did it, and I’m very glad the whole show exists. It’s quite the achievement.

“I feel quite sad today” I mutter to myself, before remembering I’ve just listened to seven sad albums in a row, so maybe that had something to do with it.

In 2026 we’ll be releasing Bunny Vs Monkey book 12 (as well as some other BVM tie-ins!). There’ll also be book one of my new series Megalomaniacs! No Max And Chaffy this year BUT we’ll be busy making new ones for next year. I’m also excited to do more Hero Slam comics and more King Looshkin too 🚀

Here’s another cool thing I got for Christmas. I remember this game SO WELL from when I was about 4(?), particularly the graphics on the cover, it had been a long held memory but I could never quite recall the name until recently. We found a copy on eBay. It’s from 1964 🤩

Found a load of old divs fawning over an AI clip claiming to show Margate in the early 1900s, endless comments about ‘times was great then’ and ‘what has are country become’ and couldn’t resist trying to get them to log off. Won’t work. We’re doomed.

Why do they keep sitting down to explain their plans in Stranger Things, like every episode, is this a running gag or just flipping annoying now.

I hate this timeline

Bar a few exceptions, Christmas TV this year has been the same handful of comedians doing all the ‘celebrity’ shows, new movies like… the original Indiana Jones, and endless repeats of the flipping Snowdog. If terrestrial TV is struggling this should be the time to shine.

I bought these McBess plates a long long time ago, and it has now become tradition to get them out once a year to serve the Christmas cheese and cold cuts on 🤘
