Tonight, the People of Minneapolis are being awarded the Profile in Courage Award—and there can be no doubt that they are deserving. At the same time, the people of New Jersey are fighting the same fight at Delaney Hall. We stand strong with New Jersey.

Minneapolis stood up to federal occupation and demonstrated love for our community. We showed the world what courage and resilience looks like. May we honor the memories of Renee Good and Alex Pretti and continue to be a voice for the people. Thank you, Minneapolis 💙🩵

Someone was taken near 20th & Central tonight at 10 PM. Within 5 minutes, there were over 20 people on a call and even more people on foot in the area to respond.

Last night’s ICE abduction near 20th & Central didn’t happen in a vacuum. Friday morning they were found stalking people at Huset Park and earlier in April they kidnapped someone near East Phillips community center.

We must do better, and we must ensure we are clear and honest about who we are honoring when we name our streets after people. When we have statues of people. We still have work to do (Jackson St NE, the so-called pioneer statue, etc). But I’m happy the city is committed to moving on these.
