She's no progressive, but her background and some of what she has said has been interesting with this district. An interview I listened to she talked about how she's worried that her kids won't be able to do as well as she did. She needs to use that more.

It struck me the other day that they spent ~$12,000 in taxpayer money to replace these banners just to change the logo from America 250 (the real bipartisan effort) to Freedom 250 (the trumpy one)

These people are not fit to govern. They are either incredibly stupid or so disingenuous it’s evil. She got an abortion after helping ban them. She blamed Dems for the struggle she had to get one even though it’s what she has pushed for. And she doesn't want interviews talking about it to be public

What goes unsaid in these heinous stories about denying essential aid is that a 28-year-old DOGE lackey with zero experience named Jeremy Lewin was named Acting Director of the State Department’s Office of Foreign Assistance in April 2025 and still hasn’t had a confirmation hearing.

If that is the actual image they used to make this announcement, it's a fascinatingly accurate picture of the Obama era. The growth of social media that would then subsequently be used to usher in reactionaries.

Yeah, this is very much the thing I think about. Trump, fundamentally doesn't have a core, he just wants power and praise. Vance is a true believer, he'd slot in nicely with 20th century authoritarians.

There’s been a big, big infection, all across the spectrum, from far left to far right, over the last decade, of people deciding that actually the way Donald Trump does politics is good and correct, and we just need to do it but for good. No. Stop it. Destroy that impulse.

To be honest, the one thing that more American sports fans need to take from soccer/futbol/wrestling is the chanting. It's much harder to disguise an entire stadium of people chanting something very, very distinctive vs noise and jeers and boos.

When does it become art direction by AI when you are using it like this? It's dumb and bad. I've seen other people, whose work I enjoyed, succumb to this thing where they start using AI and what they do is more influenced by the output of stolen art and soulless algorithms. It sucks!

I marvel at how Jim Henson’s brain worked. This was a presentation piece to the executives at CBS when he was trying to get them, ultimately unsuccessfully, to pick up THE MUPPET SHOW... But if you’re a TV executive sitting in a boardroom watching this, there’s no way it’s not leaving an impression.

After finally playing some of Marathon due to the free week trial, I completely understand why this game isn't huge. It doesn't do a lot to explain what you are trying to do, to loot, and just dumps you into a pretty hostile game with no hand holding. We need games like that, but boy it's tough.
