Most importantly, the Chinese names are homophonous with "Zohran Kwame" when pronounced in both Cantonese (the spoken language used by first-wave Chinese immigrants from the South) and Mandarin (the spoken language used by new-wave Chinese immigrants from the North). What an absolute masterstroke.
