We must protect the @archive.org on every front. Knowledge is power & Internet Archive puts that power in the palm of your hand every day.

With printed media, you can just store it in a warehouse. When some company says "we never said that," you can go to the archives, fetch a newspaper, and that ends the argument. When the companies on their websites change stories, there is no archive outside the Internet Archive.

We preserve broadcast content from 9 Georgia tv stations & 2 local radio stations. Yet when trying to find an item from Savannah's newspaper in the 1960s, I learned their morgue had been warehoused during the move to digital, and the photo editor didn't have access to it. Yikes.

Access to local news archives is vital in seeking #truth in the fuller story, not simply that written by those with #power. This is an important component of #democracy.
