hope y'all had a great weekend, because it's time for work—mandatory knot & spindle upgrades! as we've hinted earlier, knots are now getting a full-fledged XRPC API, which the tangled appview will be switching to using. this means all knots will have to upgrade to the latest v1.9.0-alpha.

btw another new feature is that the markdown rendering in Tangled now supports LaTeX! that was added by me so of course i think its cool, but i reckon it might be useful to others too it uses github.com/Wyatt915/tre... which is an awesome pure go library to convert LaTeX to MathML

you know an app has traction when it gets not just users, but contributors in large number when i was making picosky for a short time ppl were building alternative clients and we even had ircsky has an alt appview but that's nothing compared to the amount of work i see ppl put on @tangled.sh

hello! we're very close to fully transitioning knots to an XRPC API. how do folks feel about this being a backwards incompatible change, and requiring all knots to upgrade?

we're working on fixing a pesky bug preventing new users from being added to the default knot! in the meanwhile, feel free to pop your name below if you see "No knots available" when trying to create a new repository—and we'll add you manually!

The @tangled.sh stacked pull requests are really exciting; so close to the tantalizing Jane Street Iron workflow in open source tangled.sh/@tangled.sh/... (see github.com/janestreet/i... too)

i believe service auth has also broken on @tangled.sh! if you are a bsky PDS user, you may not be able to manage secrets on your repo. taking a look now!

this is now resolved! (they're quick)

it appears that the .tngl.sh pds that we run has hit the max crawl limit for bluesky(?) relays. until that is fixed .tngl.sh users won't be able to add new ssh keys and no atproto events will be picked up. we will post an update once this is resolved. apologies!
