I can't even explain why I like @leaflet.pub so much but I really do, and now it's open source (on an open source open sourcing tool) and man that is cool

unfortunately this isn't resolved yet. this seems like a rather organized (D)DoS. unclear if it's intentional or not, but we're under *heavy* traffic regardless. we're working on it! expect the site to be really slow + repo's hosted on our knot to be intermittently unavailable. sorry!

we had a pretty big outage last night thanks to botspam 😞 the hosted knot was unable to respond to about 90% of xrpc requests from the appview, resulting in failed repo/PR creations. this *should* be resolved now!

we just crossed 500 merged PRs on @tangled.org/core!

it’s tangled.org actually innovates on the atproto shape - uses self-hostable headless git servers called knots for the actual git hosting, but the identity and social layer is atproto, and much like bluesky you can just ignore all that if you want to and use their hosting like it’s github

hope y'all had a great weekend, because it's time for work—mandatory knot & spindle upgrades! as we've hinted earlier, knots are now getting a full-fledged XRPC API, which the tangled appview will be switching to using. this means all knots will have to upgrade to the latest v1.9.0-alpha.

you know an app has traction when it gets not just users, but contributors in large number when i was making picosky for a short time ppl were building alternative clients and we even had ircsky has an alt appview but that's nothing compared to the amount of work i see ppl put on @tangled.sh
