My first story for
@coyotemedia.org
is about the towns I grew up in, small cities that even I dismissed as being "too quiet" or "in a bubble." Read about Albany and El Cerrito for Palestine, a group of neighbors that have created a joyful, mutual aid collective while organizing for Palestine.

Albany and El Cerrito Weren't Known for Protest ... Until Now
In two quiet Bay Area towns, organizers for Palestine are getting loud — and forming deep friendships along the way.

I found one, Codeviz, that generates the dependency chart and then uses AI to read the code and comments in order to label it. This is higher-level than I was expecting but it's helping me comprehend how this works. Unfortunately it's AI so generating this used up one of my 9 monthly free tokens

the only way to add a "Duration" column to a folder's list view (for sorting videos) on MacOS is to temporarily rename the folder to "Movies," right click on the column headers, enable "Duration," and then rename it back to whatever it was this is fucking deranged

we have IL2P now. symbol rate limits are being removed in the HF bands. we can use the entire 2.8 khz for OFDM or whatever other modulation technique pleases us. the bands can be ours. we can and should build a communications network that doesn't involve wires or cables

everyone with a .30-06 Mauser seems to be going out to kill someone. Are Remington, Savage, Krag, and Springfield owners just too well-adjusted to do sniper attacks?

1/ A longtime Wired editor just wrote a mush-brained essay about how he totally missed the political rot of Silicon Valley (& still doesn't get it). But in the late 1990s, a Wired journalist warned of a toxic ideology bubbling up from tech. Paulina Borsook has largely been erased. Let's change that

it's weird that "connect your BBS to someone else's BBS to send an email" was/is the working model for packet radio. it's even weirder that they went with connection-oriented (virtual circuit switching) vs. connectionless for an inherently broadcast-oriented medium
