Good news: one pile of snow and ice I was thinking of here did finally get cleared. Bad news: it only just happened last night.

The sidewalk snow clearing effort downtown (and outside of downtown by the looks of it) this year has been atrocious and the people that run this city should be ashamed of themselves. But instead, they’ll tell us we’re spoiled by the level of sidewalk snow clearing we have in Winnipeg.

Late last year, two leading pedestrian intervals were installed after drivers seriously injured a child and killed another pedestrian at two locations along Osborne. Glad to see it won’t take more blood on the pavement to get safety extended to other locations.
