if you find yourself appalled that RFK Jr is able to make this claim but you don’t wear a mask in, at the very least, public indoor spaces, you are acting in precisely the way that allows him to say that covid is gone.

If you really want to "democratize art," give massing funding to arts programs. I should be able to apply for a grant to realize the idea I just had for a big band/crooner type song about being a werewolf. The money should hire actual musicians who can make a living doing niche silliness like this.

Trying to sleep but Fabienk keeps playing in my mind. It’s at least the second time today it popped in there. Who would have guessed microtonal prog-math rock could be so catchy.

It’s inaccurate to say Mario is brave and Luigi is cowardly Luigi is afraid of death, so he runs away from danger. Mario is afraid of living, so he runs towards death. Both brothers are cowards in their own way

Artemis II was so refreshing because it felt like the first news story in a decade to not be a variation on "famous idiot does stupid thing." And if that famous idiot isn't holding public office or controlling billions of dollars, why do I even need to know about it

We found out several things during the wait. 1) target uses AI for theft prevention which often falsely targets people. 2) they purposly don't notify you if you don't scan all items in a self checkout lane. 3) if u hit the ok button on the self checkout and you miss an item they say thats stealing

We’re supposed to work ourselves to death for a system that’s killing us and everyone else when a world that doesn’t run on the blood of children was always a possibility, and still is! They’re willing to throw away everything good that’s ever been for a few more quarters of 5% returns.

It was over twenty years ago at this point, but I regret not writing down the specific sarcastic burns the announcer used on the midnight NJ transit back from NYC. Only one that partially comes to mind is calling Newark the "crown jewel" of New Jersey.

it doesn't matter that they're liars and bluffers, it doesn't matter that they're pussies, it doesn't matter that they (probably) won't do what they're threatening to do. its enough that they are saying it. its enough that it's possible. this is not acceptable to any living creature on the planet

If you're sharing images from Artemis II without alt text, all I have to say is, seriously? You think people with low or no vision shouldn't get to know what all the fuss is about? Is that really the stance you're taking as you get to witness this moment in history?

VENUS CONFIRMATION ON LIVESTREAM I clapped my hands over my head in excitement. Is this how sports fans feel? Except if, you know, sports were not competitive-to-the-point-of-sublimating-humanity's-urge-for-tribalistic-hatred and wasteful and actually mattered

Remembering the time in '21 my grandmother said, "Did you hear? Bill Shatner's going to the moon." I said, "He is going to space, but not all the way to the moon." She responded, "He might as well, so long as he's up there."
