Feels like Disney has developed an aversion to good storytelling…Why is the first Star Wars in cinemas in 7 years actually Season 4 of a streaming show??? There would surely be bigger audiences for a Ben Solo movie. Why is the Rey movie dead in production? Wtf.

There was a tumblr post form a few years back that summed up how small Star Wars had become: Han Solo arrives on the Death Star with Vader's master, his droid, his dead wife's droid, his son, and a Rebel commando, all come to rescue his daughter. Vader must be thinking: who is *this* guy?

Maybe I'll be proven wrong, but I genuinely think TROS in particular is going to be a huge pain for Star Wars going forward. I don't see how they can do the same kind of clean-up that has been done with the prequel era for the sequel era.

when i watcted episode 7 in theaters the audience applauded every time something from the original trilogy showed up—it's c3p0! it's chewbacca! it's the millenium falcon! it's the climax from episode 4!—and it killed any desire i had to ever watch another star wars

A giant waste of potential. 7 plays it too safe. 8 huffs it's own farts, 9 is worse than episode 1. It's all just an unplanned mess from start to finish.

These mediocre films have done a domino effect and irreparable damage to our society. Now greasy fucks who use "woke" as a buzzword are still malding on their Youtube channels a decade after since the trilogies release because they can't comprehend the idea of a girl being the lead character.

It may not be entirely their fault but fuck Disney anyway. What was once a legendary franchise has now become a complete joke. No offense to those who like the newer stuff they've been shelling out, I'm just not a big fan of any of them personally.

I don't care about Star Wars movies, but it is still nuts that an Academy Award winning director and the actor who played Kylo Ren approached Disney about making a movie about his character and they went "but Kylo Ren is dead"

I've seen bad movies before, I've thoroughly enjoyed bad movies before, but I've never seen a movie so dismal it put me off a franchise I loved and made me hesitant to get into any of the spin-offs since because I'm afraid they'd pull something like that again.

Everyone saying Rise of Skywalker already, but yeah that's definitely the one that comes to mind because I'd been a Star Wars fan since I was a kid, and it was so dire that it killed off any interest I had in the franchise. I keep hearing Andor is good, but I just can't bring myself to get invested.

I'm not one of those people who cries about "THIS CORPORATE PRODUCT I LOVE IS *DEAD*", but if a franchise *could* ever be poisoned by single thing within it, Rise of Skywalker is it. I still enjoy the OG SW flicks and god knows I loved Andor, but TROS broke Star Wars in a way that can't be fixed.

star wars is full of plot holes and unexplained bullshit but usually it's the kind of stuff (kessel run, etc) that makes you excited to think about a possible explanation for it this? Rise of Skywalker. First time I can remember being actively, spitefully mad about a Star Wars film as I was watching it, an experience that began about midway through and had reached a fever pitch by the time credits rolled.

I feel comfortable saying Rise of Skywalker was the worst Star Wars because it is the only one I genuinely do not remember enough of it to offer a coherent explanation of the plot. I think a knife and Poe’s ex-wife were somehow involved.
