it's all just art. "porn" is just art that makes you horny, in precisely the way that "horror" is art that makes you scared and "metroidvania" is art that makes you write video essays

Just saw a take that AI brainrot is a skill issue: approaching it with skepticism and rigor will somehow improve your own work. I hate to say this, but if you think that you are clever and virtuous enough to turn a cognitohazard into a valuable tool, you have probably already succumbed to it.

this is an amazing piece of world building (dark souls 1). so if you do research about monster archetypes, one thing you run into is that devils, in a lot of european portrayals, are antisemitic archetypes. they have hooked noses etc. for this reason. but why do they have horns? that seems obscure.

"Nazis were just regular people" is not a statement meant to evoke empathy or to excuse their crimes. It is a statement of warning. The capacity to be part of and perpetrate atrocities is not limited to "monsters," it is wholly human. It is what we must always be aware of.

I got a great question on my Ramadan thread: do Muslims also need to avoid consumption by proxy in videogames? Does consuming in-game food or drink break the fast? Basically: does your character have to go fast? The answer is no, unless you happen to be playing Sonic the Hedgehog.
