A significant amount of safety research has existed for decades on Human Machine Interfaces proving exactly this. It's exhausting to watch money and effort wasted in a tech hype cycle to constantly undo and redo what we already know in safety engineering.

Some misinterpret this design as prioritizing cars while inconveniencing the bike. Incorrect. The setback allows one car to advance, waiting to enter the street, while keeping the bike path clear. A second car can wait behind the bike path, advancing only after the first car exits the waiting area.

This morning I walked home over 35W. There was only ~1 inch of snow on the ground, but plows were already out doing their thing on the highway. Meanwhile, the sidewalk I was on will likely not get cleared for hours or days. We *all* need clear sidewalks in winter. #PlowMPLSsidewalks

Divvy’s Kingsbury/Kinzie station was just electrified. It’s the 2nd busiest in the system and we doubled capacity. Half the docks are now electrified, charging e-bikes and e-scooters right in the dock. The PBLs on Kinzie make trips to this station safe and possible.
