Good morning to everyone, especially the driver revving their engine behind me on a narrow one-way street for the single block our commutes happened to overlap. Have the day you deserve!

I biked to work three days this week, for a total of 45 miles 💪🏻 We’ve got to do something to connect the Loop to the LFT. It’s the most terrifying part of my ride, and it’s less than 1/2 a mile.

Downtown Elgin is cool and could be even cooler with fewer parking lots. I lived there car-light for 6 months last year and commuted to the Loop. There’s a grocery store super close to the downtown stretch, and it’s a pretty easy town to bike in (with direct access to the Fox River trail!).

Seems like my commute home will be… damp.

My bike commute was absolutely gorgeous. I chatted with a fellow cyclist at a stoplight. Everything is terrible, but riding my bike is decidedly not!

Had a bit of bike trouble on my way in this morning. I’m shaken up, but I made it all the way to work, and my bike appears to be fine. At least it was a glorious morning for a ride!

My Red line train skipped Monroe this morning. It went straight from Lake to Jackson. Maybe there was an explanation/warning I missed because I had headphones on, but everyone seemed very confused disembarking at Jackson.

First bike commute of 2026 in the bag. Just one block of bike lane randomly closed with no detour and only 2 miles of light but persistent mist. It was surprisingly clear by the time I got to the lake!

77 is atrocious this morning. I saw 3 buses go by as I walked to my stop and then waited almost 20 minutes for the next one.

My kid’s bike is now too large to sketchily strap to the large basket on the front of my RadWagon4. @lauragmitchell.com do you think the Bunch haul straps would work to attach it to the caboose so I can tow it on its back wheel next to/behind me? Would appreciate the advice if you have time!
