This is a thread of major media outlets falsely anthropomorphising the "Grok" chatbot program and in doing so, actively and directly removing responsibility and accountability from individual people working at X who created a child pornography generator (Elon Musk, Nikita Bier etc) #1: Reuters

I know everyone is pointing it out but I do think it is absolutely reckless editorial practice to cite what an AI says, especially in a headline. Grok has no authority, nor does it have a meaningful explanation for what happened, and citing it obscures those actually responsible for literal crimes.

For the last few days on X, people (mainly women, and sometimes children) have had nonconsensual images of them in swimsuits (or much worse) requested by users and created by Grok. Musk's only apparent response thus far has been to crack jokes about it.
