It is with a heavy heart that one of the most legendary
#Cubs
fans has passed away. Jim Anixter aka “The Pink Hat Guy” died yesterday. A season ticket holder for 60 years, Jim was always seen in his trademark pink hat in the first row behind home plate.

My thing here is there’s nowhere near the push needed to adequately fund and build more education infrastructure and staffing, so we just get this “well actually college is expensive so it’s okay for people to be bigots” type of framing.

Marco Rubio is against birthright citizenship. But Marco Rubio *is* a birthright citizen. Ted Cruz is against birthright citizenship. But Ted Cruz was born in Canada. He only got US citizenship by a birthright citizenship law because of his US mother. They are both shameless hypocrites.

There’s obviously a lot that’s wrong here but one major component here is the delusion among a surprisingly large portion of parents that their kid is gonna get an athletic scholarship and go to the Olympics, and a truly courageous public official _might_ find a way to break the bad news to them.

I have walked the entire mall and seen everything. The overarching vibe is boredom. I cannot emphasize enough just how little there is to DO here. Imagine a state fair with one Ferris Wheel & no other rides. Three event stages, but no performance schedule. Dozens of booths, with nothing inside.
