Others have said this but it bears repeating -- the amount of money that it would cost for Bezos to keep all of that staff (and significantly add to it!), would amount to a rounding error in his fortune. This is a deliberate choice to kill the paper.

Not to sound like an old crank but I’m annoyed MLB the show continues to completely ignore franchise mode. Also I feel like the game has looked the same for 10 years.

Something that drives me kind of crazy with the "Yankees running it back" discourse is that Boone/Cashman point to the deadline last year to say "actually we're better now" -- that is completely not the point. The offseason is the chance to improve the team you have NOW, not some early '25 version.
