I think it's so cool that Dave keeps going to unreliable relievers in leverage situations, such that he immediately has to get a better RP up behind them. Seems like maybe you could skip a step but what do I know

is it good when your eighth inning guy was also the guy you had up in the first inning when the starter struggled and also is the guy you just added to the roster due to an injury

I'd humbly suggest you're not going to get baseball writing like this anywhere else, especially in what's supposed to be a recap-type thing, although tbh

I guess I should promote it. This one is about Roald Dahl, war, and being forcibly drowned in an empty field in Europe. Also, the Rockies, a bit.

As I was moved to say in the comments, "If the goal is to venerate someone for purposes that have nothing to do with the reality of their lives... That's a manipulative politics that has no relationship to critical thinking and is in fact actively opposed to it." That's what this column is about.

Bunch of owners going out of their way to not sign players and then declaring "oh no, this is unfair!" when a player they had no intention of signing is signed by a team actually trying. The issue, as it always is, has more to do with a desire to spend than an inability to do so.

Thinking about this a lot since it went up yesterday. Lots of pieces talk about grief, love, and moving forward. Few capture the stop-and-start jitters of it all.
