First day on the job and you want respect? Go right up to the most recognizable and respected guy in the newsroom and have him yell at you until you cry. Then it's time to send him a weepy email telling him how disappointed you were that he did all that. Shouldn't have any trouble after that.

I recently went on a reporting trip to the canyons emerging around Lake Powell as the reservoir drops. Beavers, willows and other native plants and animals are thriving in once-drowned landscapes. My colleague Francisco Kjolseth took stunning photos and videos of the recovery we witnessed.

The allegations here are really upsetting and it definitely does not seem like RSL did enough to protect its young players. Every year, in some way, RSL cannot get out of their own way

Darryn Peterson said his creatine was to blame for all the weirdness at Kansas, but what do doctors say to his explanation? I talked to a number of physicians to try and get to the bottom of this:

One of the best things about a Bluesky is that I don’t have to be adjacent to all the fucked up fundamental Mormons all the time. I know they are around me, but I have to live here and for my own mental health I need some distance. I deal with them all the time IRL, I am not in a bubble.

The president of Cornell hit two students with his car, lied about what happened, and got away with it. The story illustrates an under-reported crisis in higher education: administrators and the trustees they answer to are increasingly hostile to the idea of college itself. I wrote about it here:
