Shame on Mendelson for saying this after ramming the deal through with no regard for detail. Hundreds of people signed petitions and sent literally thousands of emails during the Councilâs deliberation urging them to reduce and relocate parking, and add a new metro station. He didnât listen.

A staggering new finding from Harvard's Joint Center for Housing Studies: since 2001, the money left over each month for lower-income rentersâafter paying rent and utilitiesâhas fallen 60 percent to a record low of $210. $210 left over for food, healthcare, childcare, and everything else.

12.7M acres of solar is is about 82% of the solar required to decarbonize the US in the Net Zero America E+ scenario (there's wind and existing nuclear and stuff in there too, but that's the solar portion). Or we can have 5% of our gasoline displaced.

DC folks actually sort of need to demand that heads roll over this. Itâs a real problem if law enforcement in the capital is so pathetic, weak, and supine that their instinct is to act as stormtroopers for illicit federal power grabs.
