This time last week Rosie wasn't eating, not walking, and shaking. Now she is on top of the world (well, top of Europe) after taking a cable car up a mountain.

The reality of Southern Lebanon is horrific, there is a perpetual effort by Netenyahu and his allies to keep expanding the conflict and insulate themselves from their utter failure, and the cost is 1000s of Lebanese lives. A sixth of the country has been forced to flee.

Saw someone call GLP-1's "snake oil" and 1) their evidence is overwhelming, this would require a conspiracy orders of magnitude larger than even faking the moon landing 2) at least have a sense of humor and call it "lizard oil" since we discovered GLP-1s in Gila monster venom

Right, like I can’t understand why people can’t hold two ideas simultaneously. (1) Climate change is really bad and will cause suffering for enormous numbers of people. (2) It’s not going to end life on earth, or most life, or even just human life. Come on.

Someone sent me this image yesterday and I think it's the rosetta stone of online discourse. 1. A pret sandwich being *$16 PLUS TAX* should definitively end any US vs UK food discourse. Good GOD, guys. Good God. 2. I now finally understand the US vibecession, too. 3. And why you're all so angry.

It seems to me the next point of Iran-US conflict would be in the Straits of Hormuz. Good thing we have excellent mine countermeasures ships as well as excellent offshore patrol vessels that are definitely not the same hulls with ongoing corrosion & propulsion issues & ad hoc armament.

Another way we know that nobody uses Grok (supposedly where 80% of SpaceX's market is!) is that they have excess compute to sell to Anthropic... a deal Anthropic can cancel with 90 days notice. For all the Mars hoopla, SpaceX's primary business model now is just renting out xAI's GPUs. /17

Wasting a period of shockingly low interest rates on a programme of pointless fiscal retrenchment is the original sin of all of this. And has strong rhyming with Starmer getting a massive majority and then acting like he's in coalition.

Badenoch asks Starmer why oil from Russia is acceptable while oil from Aberdeen is not? It is a *very* good question and a sign of just how stupid and venal the government's relaxation of sanctions was in this instance.

Great example of how you can't win with them, they objected to trans people being listed under what they see at the "wrong" gender so the ability to filter by gender was removed But they are still whining because they really want the trans MSPs humiliated and this change doesn't do that

No-one is admitting to who took the decision to ease sanctions- whether it was FO, DESNZ, HMT, No10 - but the line that somehow if Miliband had eased North Sea oil and gas restrictions in 2024 would have made any difference whatsoever to the current predicament is stupid beyond belief.
