I just think it’s worth remembering how extreme bathroom bans were seen as until fairly recently. The backlash to one in *South Carolina* in 2016 was so bad it made the state Republican Party rethink strategy.

If you really want to make me froth at the mouth then remember the last fuel crisis lead to mass adoption of solar power in poorer countries out of desperation and despite having 4 years, the UK has done...nothing

Ooh, dropping the national speed limit to 55mph to improve fuel efficiency would be a good one. With targeted fuel and energy efficiency support funded by all the FPNs of people breaking it. Also we could fit a turbine to the bladders of telegraph columnists to get free elec from the boiled piss

Is it morally defensible? No. But is it a coherent response to a difficult situation? No. Ah, but is it effective in bringing down fuel prices? Ha, you're not going to believe this...

Not to go all "Big Burnham" but the GMCA fund is actually spectacular. Started in 2015 with ÂŁ300mn in assets it's now worth c.ÂŁ1.2bn having been recycled over and over through short and medium term loans that basically mean Manchester is on pace to actually meet its housing targets.

Right, but that's not really the secret? The central question of Aaron's Thor run is whether gods deserve to be gods, and Thor's battle with Gorr, the butcher of gods, culminates in Gorr realising he's getting through to Thor. Original Sin is an all knowing eye telling Thor "Gorr was right."

If you want the moment I started to get properly nervous about this government, it was when they decided to scrap the report on social care they'd done in opposition and punt it to the next election despite it running through two of their key focuses: NHS wait times and local government.

The thing is these are very hard demographics to poll accurately, it's a constantly changing, self selecting electorate so there will be pretty big error bars, Wes could be as high as 25%?

Found out this morning that my Mum's cousin died, which has really shaken her because they're the same age and suddenly life feels very brief. Leads to a very odd conversation about mortality when you're still not over nearly being killed a week ago.

Not to get all "why does Keir seem to drive everyone up the wall?" When it barely matters, but a consistent problem is that Keir does remind people of their bad boss who will say whatever is convenient to get to the end of the meeting, and then never do anything towards it again.

Nigel Farage’s claim that he paid for a £1.4mn house with his fee from a reality TV show has been challenged by corporate accounts that appear to show that the income remained on his company’s balance sheet after the property purchase.

I'm not sure what kind of economic model you get to where a wealth tax is existential for the future of economic growth but zero net immigration is just vibes and social cohesion. When I did economics they taught us that you needed inputs if you wanted outputs but I guess the literature has moved on

Fallow is still probably the best combination of quality and price for a roast dinner in central London. The ex-dairy cow beef is an inspired choice, adding an aged funkiness that beats most dry aging whilst being far more sustainable
