I finally finished writing that support module for the Deco 02 and all the buttons are actually buttons and not keyboard keys now and I've got a merge request and I feel very successful

Still haven't gotten round to my drawing today, but now I do have a functioning filter that properly reports my tablet buttons as tablet buttons, rather than as keyboard buttons. So at least there's that.

A lot of people always respond to UK petitions with "But they don't do anything" or "But they'll just say lolno again". To that I say that immediate response isn't the goal ­— it introduces fringe issues into the political discourse. It can serve as a launchpad for future push and outrage.

My pull request was Probably Bad, and now I'm reading Linux kernel documentation, and feeling remarkably less overwhelmed than I imagined. I don't feel like I should be here with my game made in a weekend, entry-level JavaScript and half-remembered C with standard libraries, and yet here I am.

If you ever share anything on the internet, professional or no, and you want it to stay shared, you absolutely need a website. Ideally, that website should also be portable. It's neither as complicated nor expensive as you think, unless you expect MASSIVE traffic.

Makes me feel very not good that the BBC openly refers to trans people with slurs. If you weren’t aware, to call a trans person “biologically [their sex assigned at birth]” is a slur - it’s dehumanising and inaccurate!

I think the worst thing about life is that it's so short that we have to choose to do things. I don't want to have to choose, I want to do everything, I want to invest enough time in everything to be at least okay at everything. This sucks.

Getting a score for creativity in the upper half of almost 10,000 entries on both my first game AND a game that I wasn't totally happy with for various reasons is just entirely surreal. I'm proud to have achieved completing and releasing, and overjoyed to have done so well where it mattered to me!

Hadn't made a great deal of progress the day before yesterday, and most of yesterday, owing to a geometry-related nightmares that took that entire period to fix (admittedly not TOTALLY resolved). But once I finished that, AI behaviours came together ridiculously quickly and I am ZOOMING.

Is my first night progress in the @gamemakerstoolkit.com #GMTK game jam impressive? Not particularly. Am I proud at having gotten done more than I expected to in a single evening? You betcha.
