Great to have the West St. Paul City Council join Minneapolis, St. Paul and Roseville in calling for an eviction moratorium so no family is forced to choose between making rent and risking being kidnapped by ICE. Governor Walz is choosing not to stop evictions for our neighbors in hiding from ICE.

Thompson says he asked for a moment of silence for Renee Good at the committee's last hearing. Today, he asked for a moment of silence for Alex Pretti, "a law-abiding U.S. citizen and a VA nurse who dedicated his career to caring for our veterans."

Todd Lyons, Trump's ICE chief, is testifying this morning in a House hearing. Lyons will say in his opening remarks that ICE is somehow the victim of ICE's reign of terror and violence in Minnesota, not the immigrants too traumatized to go outside or the American citizens ICE/CBP have killed.

This includes voting on funding to support our small businesses impacted by this occupation, asking Congress to act and support the abolition of ICE, asking other levels of government to support our small businesses, and supporting a gas and energy shutoff moratorium. We can and must do more. 4/

Another classic post-Homan day where around school dismissal time we get a flurry of ICE vehicles all across our neighborhoods. Today one vehicle led an observer to their own home and pointed at it. This is a sick game to them, but we won’t be intimidated and we won’t stop until DHS is abolished.

"I think that the goal of Tom Homan switching out for Gregory Bovino is purely optics and damage control. It's not actually a change in their tactics of intimidation and indiscriminate apprehension,” said Minneapolis City Council President Elliott Payne.

Given the repeated examples of deception, trickery, and violence being used by ICE to kidnap our neighbors, it is our responsibility to never bring ICE into places where our residents or employees could be at risk.

I have heard from staff and their unions that workers at the City of Minneapolis have been abducted by ICE while on the job or while coming to and from work. This lays out clearly why the City must be vigilant in the enforcement of the separation ordinance.

Hosting the border czar and ICE agents in City Hall (and its parking areas) is a violation of the City’s separation ordinance and broader City policy. These are in place to protect our residents and City staff.

Knowingly violating our separation ordinance, and endangering the people that work in and around it, violates our shared values and the trust that residents imbue us with as elected officials.

Following this incident I followed up with Mayor Frey to ask for more information about what had happened. His chief of staff confirmed that the Mayor and his administration had a meeting with border czar Tom Homan. I assume the ICE vehicles outside were part of Homan’s convoy.

And this. I'm glad these more behind-the-scenes stories are getting into national and international news. To repeat: nothing has changed in MN. ICE is still active (they were at my neighborhood park today). People are still scared. Neighbors are still helping neighbors.
