My soul is as intact as it was the last time I put my body on the line to defend my neighbors. I simply recognize that I have enemies, some of whom are evil. When evil leaves this world, the world is better for it. My ability to discern this has no impact on my soul.

When encampments are closed, people don't get housed. They get scattered to the suburbs or to places where outreach workers can't find them. That's not help. That's displacement.

I've lived in some of these shelters myself, in St. Paul and in other areas of MN. I've been fed by Dorothy Day and Loaves and Fishes. I know firsthand what the city calls "help." It's dehumanizing. It's micromanaged. You're controlled, judged, and treated like a criminal just for existing.
