As a kid visiting in India, I recall my great aunt boiling milk so we wouldn’t get sick.

My great grandmother still lived on the family farm when we went to visit her when I was very young, and I remember them boiling milk.

As someone who grew up scalding milk from goats and cows we milked ourselves, I forget that not everyone knows this. When I say it was a lot of work to live off grid, this kind of thing is part of the reason why.

I grew up on a small farm way back when the dinosaurs roamed the earth. I can confirm that we never drank milk straight from the udder….whether cow or goat….it was always boiled (then chilled) before it went into anything, including us!
