As we celebrate Women's History Month, I'm grateful for the contributions of Jeannette Rankin — a trailblazing women's rights advocate who became the first woman to hold federal office in 1917. More than a century later, we honor her legacy by continuing the fight for equality.

President Trump has unilaterally taken our nation to war with Iran. Just now, I voted YES on a resolution to put an end to this conflict. Unfortunately, the measure failed. Rather than reining in this president and his out-of-control war, Republicans chose to endorse it.

Kristi Noem is the most inept, incompetent, and dishonorable leader in the history of the Department of Homeland Security. Her short tenure leaves behind an agency marred by corruption and distrust, and her legacy will be the violence DHS has inflicted on Americans.

Today, I will vote YES on a resolution to limit President Trump from continuing military strikes in Iran without Congressional approval. Congress should be addressing the health care and affordability crises created by Trump and Republicans, not going to war.

Rather than fixing the health care and affordability crises they created for the American people, President Trump and Congressional Republicans continue to target Minnesota in an unprecedented campaign of retribution and incompetence aimed at attacking our way of life and dividing our neighbors.

I will vote YES on a War Powers Resolution this week that would rein in President Trump's actions in the Middle East.

I am heartbroken by the loss of six American service members in the Middle East. The Army has released the names of four of those we lost, including Sgt. First Class Nicole M. Amor of White Bear Lake. My thoughts are with her family, friends, and fellow Soldiers as they grieve this tremendous loss.
