What are the names of the U.S. Navy officers carrying out these orders to serially bomb civilian boats that pose no threat to their own vessels, killing everyone aboard? Surely they’ll want to take personal credit for this honorable service and perhaps wear a little campaign medal on their chest.

Incredible line from the Reform fascist love in earlier as Yusuf says, "The reality is that we think the [immigration] numbers are much higher." Soooooo it's not a reality then, is it? Like, by definition. It's just some vibes.

I've been trying to understand why this isn't generating as much fury as it should, and i think it's because there is a fundamental belief among many americans that the military can pretty much do whatever (which isn't entirely inaccurate.) that said, what the actual fuck.

This whole "Ireland needs a right wing presidential candidate" and "I'm being prevented from running" thing is funny because you only need 20 Oireachtas backers. You couldn't get 20 people to like you. Sounds like a skill issue tbh.

Some people argue that 'the British Isles' isn't political and we shouldn't be bothered by it, which is why they're invariably so open to my suggestion that we should switch to 'the Irish Isles' for the next few hundred years while we work out a solution.

A bit underplayed that the Homan sting didn't reportedly come out of a public corruption investigation, it was a counter-intelligence one. Which means they somehow made the not-very-far leap to him from initially targeting a foreign and almost certainly state actor.

Kirk’s ‘memorial’ getting a live coverage on The Guardian is a great example of how the right gets automatically framed as the default political movement to be ‘understood’ while the victims of that same movement never will never get the same amount of coverage

Premise is there's numerous former Trump supporters (a) with a change of heart (b) who will change back if Dems don't flatter them. There are trivially few such people, if any. In reality, Dems need to win back nonvoters. They won't do that by trying to placate Trumpers, they'll just look weak.

Keep in mind there's nothing preventing the US from doing nonlethal searches and seizures. The Coast Guard and sometimes Navy often does this. In the time between the 1st and 3rd deadly US strike, sailors from the USS Jason Dunham stopped and searched a ship. The strikes are a deliberate choice.
