Guy came to my show tonight who does the recorded announcements on Thameslink, Southern and a couple of other train networks. If you're on trains as much as me, that's like meeting Kendrick Lamar.

This is the Gov looking for your input on the BBC. It takes a while to complete (15/20 mins) but itās pretty comprehensive and covers most aspects. Please share. Iām surprised many people havenāt seen it yet.

I think at this point the UK has accepted Paddington as the Death Bear, collector of souls. So, I think as a nation we should start smearing marmalade on the eyes of the dead and whisper āfare for the crossingā. Itāll feel weird now but, in three of four generations, no one will question it.

Unpleasant casting aside, I don't see what the point of any of this is when the definitive adaptation of this novel already exists amongst the thousands of other forgettable tawdry versions out there.

Tax aside, this is objectively a very sad end to Raynerās political career: a teenage single mum from a deprived family who went onto be deputy prime minister. The right wing press detested her for not knowing her place. Their glee at her downfall will be palpable in tomorrowās front pages.

As Rory Bremner observes, if only Angela Rayner had followed the Telegraphās advice. Then they might not call her a hypocrite.

Tom and Jerry began on this day in 1940, but achieved its peak for me on 12th November 1955 with the appearance of Uncle Pecos and his extraordinary rendition of CRAMBONE which has lived rent-free in my head since seeing it in the 80s.
