Its not a "U-turn"... There was a whole package of changes announced in the Budget for the recreation & hospitality sector, this is just a small change to one item. The claims of "huge rises" in rates ignore that they had a 40% discount since Covid, now ended on a taper (which wont now happen).

It needs to be called a patriotic tax and those companies and individuals evading it need to ge named and shamed

I’d rather not pay more tax. But right now I would be prepared to pay more to boost our defense and help domestic pressures. My ‘earnings’ aren’t high and it won’t make a massive difference but it would if all 43m tax payers agreed too. Paying tax is the most patriotic thing you can do
