I voted remain, but also realise the struggle (diplomatically & financially) that rejoining would become. UK voted to leave in 2016 with a blind yes/no vote, & it's not been a success, taking years to implement. Yet there are still many who believe in it. We've had enough angry division already.

Rachel Reeves has written to the Competition and Markets Authority requesting it stays on high alert for unjustifiable price rises on petrol, diesel and heating oil, to support families and businesses.

Prices at UK petrol pumps are up, but actual govt rises won't take effect until Sept (if they actually implement this). Pay per mile prices aren't even in the pipeline (no pun intended) til 2028. This is due to Trump's war, & probably a little opportunism by fuel companies.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has set out plans to step up monitoring of petrol and diesel prices.

So someone's apparently won umpteen million £s on the lottery. Whoever you are, can I suggest that there are many worthy causes to which you could donate some of it. Nobody actually needs an obscene amount of money like that.

The NHS in England has seen ANOTHER fall in waiting lists in the data from January 2026. This means that waiting lists have falled by more than 374k since Labour came in to government. If you add in Wales as well, Labour run areas have seen a reduction in excess of 415k since July 2024.

An 8% drop in national food bank use under the Labour government. I’d put some of this down to free childcare, some to uplift in min wage & pensions, some to breakfast clubs and some to reducing interest rates/inflation. This deserves massive applause. 👏👏👏

The UK PM will visit Belfast today, to set out his commitment to protecting people from heating oil profiteering. The majority of households in Northern Ireland rely on heating oil to heat their homes. The PM will set out action already being taken to tackle this, & other cost of living measures.
